Welcome to the ESC Region 11 Science of Reading Implementation hub. Here, we are committed to empowering teachers as they implement the Science of Teaching Reading in their classrooms. We offer an array of services to provide comprehensive support to LEAs in Region 11. These supports include collaborative walkthroughs, professional learning sessions, and job-embedded coaching opportunities designed to enhance instructional practices and improve student literacy outcomes. Tanya Kellerman
Tanya Kellerman is currently in her 30th year as an educator. She served as a kindergarten and second-grade classroom teacher in Garland and Irving ISDs before becoming a lead teacher in a multi-age classroom at Georgia State University Lab School. Early in her career, she discovered that teaching reading was her passion. To that end, she has served as a Reading Recovery Teacher, Language Arts Instructional Coach, and a Learning Liaison. After spending the past 12 years in roles primarily focused on teacher education, she returned to her first love of teaching reading as a Literacy Interventionist. Tanya served as a Reading Academies cohort leader with ESC Region 11 for 4 years before becoming the Science of Teaching Reading Implementation Specialist.
