Superintendent Certification Program
-
GoLead11 Superintendent Certification Program is a one-year preparation program for superintendent certification. Candidates will acquire knowledge and skills in a problem-based learning approach.
The program is open to candidates in ESC Region 11 districts as well as other Texas school districts. Charter and private school administrators may enroll as well. Candidates must receive approval from the district’s superintendent for program participation.
About two-thirds of the classes are conducted live via the Zoom platform. The remaining one-third of the training is provided via asynchronous Canvas courses. Training includes seminars delivered by practitioners in the field, field-based experiences, and monthly support through a mentor selected by the candidate. The ten Texas Superintendent Competencies provide the foundation for all the training with the goal of successful passage of the TExES 195 Superintendent Test.

Other Information
The Superintendent certificate is issued by the state upon recommendation from the program.
GoLead11 does not offer an advisory opinion on one’s criminal history; however, under recent legislation (HB963-Guillen) SBEC is required to issue, upon request, a criminal history evaluation letter to persons contemplating entering a profession requiring a license. This will help individuals to determine if they would likely be denied a license/certification because of the criminal histories.
