GoTeach11 Certification Process
The GoTeach11 certification process, a journey divided into four stops, takes accepted candidates through a blended design allowing for convenience and flexibility of online work mixed with vital in-person interaction, practice, and feedback.
The GoTeach Journey begins on our certification portal by creating an account and filling out an online application.
We accept applications year-round. Phase 1 begins with orientation which takes place at the beginning of each month in a virtual setting. After attending orientation, participants have access to TExES test prep and required coursework. For application deadlines and cohort start dates, view our 2024-2025 GoTeach11 Cohort Timeline.

Stop #1 - Create An Account
The GoTeach Journey begins on our certification portal by creating an account and filling out an online application.
Our intake process consists of the completion of our application form, a list of references and official transcripts. Once all documentation is received, we begin the evaluation process.
Every applicant is notified and made aware of acceptance or denial into the program. Letters are typically sent within 24 hours of the completion of the intake process.
Admittance
Immediately upon admittance, accepted applicants receive access to field-based experience observation materials.
Your assigned specialist will provide you with the specific date and time for online orientation, typically 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Upon completion of orientation, accepted applicants can access online coursework.
Transcripts
We only accept official transcripts. They can be electronically sent (goteach11@esc11.net) or mailed from the university to:
ESC Region 11 - GoTeach11
1451 South Cherry Lane
White Settlement, Texas 76108If mailed, transcripts must be received from the university or evaluation center in a sealed envelope.
PACT/TX PACT

The TX PACT is required of anyone not meeting the minimum number of hours for the certification area they are seeking. For more information, visit the TEA PACT webpage.

Stop #2: Online Coursework
Accepted candidates will move into Phase One and receive access to approximately 200 hours of online coursework which includes TExES exam preparation work. This phase also consists of four live teaching labs and one lesson presentation.
Candidates can choose to complete these sessions virtually or in person at ESC Region 11. View upcoming session dates and times.
-
Stop #3: Internship & Clinicals
After Phase One completion, candidates can continue in the GoTeach11 Program through paid internship or unpaid clinical teaching.
Selecting a Paid Internship
Paid internships last a full school year. Candidates must apply, interview and accept a position with a school district or charter school. For interns hired after the start of a school year, a minimum of 180 days is needed. While working under a paid internship, candidates will be on an intern or probationary certificate.
Many Region 11 districts and charters rely on the ESC to provide a list of eligible interns when they are seeking to fill positions. While we cannot guarantee a position, we do everything we can to help our candidates secure jobs.
Choosing Clinical Teaching
Selecting the clinical teaching route allows GoTeach11 staff to place the candidate in a district with a teacher who will work with them. The goal of this option is to allow the candidate time to first observe the teacher then begin teaching the class by the end of the experience. Clinical teaching lasts a minimum of 70 days.
Each option receives training and support through the candidate's GoTeach11 specialist, a field supervisor, a campus mentor, and the campus principal.

Stop #4: Apply for Certificate
The final step of the process is applying for the standard certificate. After completion of a paid internship or clinical teaching assignment, candidates will be recommended by GoTeach11 program staff to apply for their standard certificate.
Certificates are not recommended until all coursework, sessions and payments have been completed and processed.
To apply for the standard certificate, candidates will need to login to their account and follow the instructions sent during Phase Two on how to apply for the certificate.
